​Announcement about the Pensioners’ Dental Services Plan (PDSP)​ 

On November 1, 2024, the administration of the PDSP will transition from Sun Life to Canada Life. The new contract with Canada Life requires mandatory positive enrolment. We are pleased to complete positive enrolment on behalf of as many eligible members as possible.
 
Between August to September 2024, Canada Life will complete enrolment for members using personal information from the following authoritative sources:    

  • Government of Canada: name, date of birth, language, category of coverage and effective date of coverage  
  • Canada Life PSHCP account (if applicable): contact information  
  • Sun Life: dependant information (if applicable)  

 

What you need to do 

You will receive a positive enrolment confirmation notice between August and early September, via your preferred method of communication.  The confirmation notice will include your enrolment details and new PDSP benefit card, that has your new plan number. Validate your information - Opens in a new window and update it as required.

What you need to know 

  • There are no changes to your dental benefits as part of this transition. 
  • Continue to submit claims under the PDSP to Sun Life until October 31, 2024.  
  • You will need to inform your dental provider that as of November 1, 2024, dental claims must be submitted to Canada Life with your new plan number, which can be found on your new PDSP benefit card.   
  • You may have already completed positive enrolment for the Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP), but benefit plans under the Government of Canada are separate and governed by different rules. As such, positive enrolment must be completed and maintained separately on all benefit plans.
